Ole Skeet

From the nomadic days of his upbringing in the 1970s to the dynamic rap scene of the 1980s with The Master Control Force, Ole Skeet's journey has been one of constant evolution.

Early Years and Influences: Ole Skeet, born Jeff Powell, emerged from a backdrop of constant change during the 1970s. His family's nomadic lifestyle, navigating unemployment, poverty, and substance abuse, laid the foundation for Ole Skeet's distinctive worldview and musical style. The fusion of urban and rural living left an indelible mark on his tastes, drawing inspiration from diverse artists such as ACDC, CDB, NWA, P Funk, ZZ Top, and ZZ Hill.

The Rap Scene and The Master Control Force: In 1984, Ole Skeet, then known as Dr. Skeet, took a pivotal step into the rap scene by joining The Master Control Force. This rap group, under contract with Big Bad Wolf Records, was led by James "Super" Wolfe and Denise LaSalle, the "Queen of the Blues." The group's performances and studio experiences marked the beginning of Ole Skeet's musical journey.

Dog House Productions Era: Following the eventual breakup of The Master Control Force, Ole Skeet, in 1989, partnered with Dj Trick to establish Dog House Productions. What began as a small recording studio evolved into Dog House Records, releasing EPs and singles on 12" vinyl. Ole Skeet's dedication during this period laid the groundwork for his future endeavors.

Life on the Gulf Coast and Personal Challenges: Moving to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the mid-1990s, Ole Skeet continued his music career while working as a graphic designer and multimedia professional.
