Vivid Drkness

I feel music, taste music, see the colors in the sounds, and all the emotions in between. When I make music, I want everyone else to feel what I feel... if only for a moment.” -- Vivid Drkness

Jennay's childhood, nestled in the vibrant suburbs near Flint, Michigan, bloomed with an inherent love for music. She differed from her peers, drawn more to the melodies on the radio than to the typical amusements of childhood. Her affinity for music wasn't just a pastime—it was an intrinsic part of her essence.

Her passion for rock music ignited a fiery ambition within her. The moment she cradled a guitar, she dreamed of standing on stage, harmonizing her chords with her musical idols. The guitar strings became her conduit to expressing herself in a language beyond words.

At 9 years old, she delved into the world of keys and synthesizers, mesmerized by the enchanting allure of these instruments. Choir and band classes during her formative years honed her musical dexterity, nurturing her growing talent and providing the stage for her earliest performances.

Simultaneously, Jennay began carving her path in the realm of aesthetics, stepping into the world of cosmetology school in 1999. Her creative endeavors, however, weren't solely limited to the melodies and harmonies of music.

In 2000, she embarked on a transformative journey as she entered the legendary Leland City Club in Detroit, an underground industrial nightclub.

It was within the atmospheric beats and pulsating rhythms of this subterranean sanctuary that she was spellbound by Benny Bennassi's "Satisfaction." This track captured her spirit, imprinting itself as a sonic revelation that would resonate throughout her musical evolution. The Leland City Club swiftly became her sanctuary, a sacred space where her love for electronic music flourished over the following four years.

In 2016, Vivid Drkness began her journey into photography, attending events across Michigan to capture moments in short videos and photos. She documented her experiences, meeting and connecting with some of the musicians she had idolized for years, including Rob Zombie, Dope, Hed PE, Davey Suicide, 9Electric, and more. Vivid was an active presence on Facebook until she had to step back due to illness in 2019. Now, she's in the process of reconnecting with these artists to create a YouTube series titled Let Me LUV U, which will showcase the content she captured during those vibrant years.

Jennay's professional journey took a specialized turn as she delved into the artistry of vivid and creative hair coloring, cultivating her expertise and witnessing her skills flourish. Her foray into this specialized niche marked a period of growth both professionally and creatively.

Parallel to her flourishing career, she extended her passions into event coordination from 2017 to 2019. Coordinating lifestyle educational groups, social mixers, and immersive parties, she adeptly navigated this dynamic role, fostering engaging and vibrant communities.

In November 2019, her trajectory took an unforeseen turn when she acquired a rhythm game, Fuser, upon its release. Quickly mastering the game, Fuser became more than a mere pastime—it became a catalyst reigniting her dormant passion for music composition.

The rhythmic tapestry of Fuser sparked a profound inspiration within her, triggering a resurgence of her musical creativity.

By 2020, she ascended to the prestigious title of

Fuser game Ambassador, solidifying her prowess within the rhythm game community.

Empowered by the rhythmic landscapes of Fuser, Jennay, now embracing the moniker Vivid Drkness, embarked on a transformative journey in 2021.

With a fervor unmatched, she ventured into the realm of music composition, production, recording, and publication under this new artistic identity.

The emergence of Vivid Drkness marked a transformative chapter in Jennay's creative journey, channeling her boundless creativity and passion into a powerful musical force. As Vivid Drkness, Jennay transcends genre boundaries, blending EDM, House, Electronic Metal, Drum and Bass, Pop, and Experimental sounds into intricate melodies that resonate with deep emotion.

Parallel to her musical evolution, Vivid Drkness carved a niche in the gaming world. Starting as a Fuser Ambassador, she transitioned into a multi-platform gamer and live content streamer. Currently, she streams on Twitch as a pop-up streamer and is developing three YouTube series, with one set to debut in January 2025. Her gaming influence extends to collaborations with game development teams on titles like Universim, Festival Tycoon, Roblox SPLASH, Everywhere, and Palia. Her music also features in the Audica VR Rhythm Shooter, where her Tech House cover of Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction" showcases her inventive prowess.

Beyond her artistic endeavors, Vivid Drkness is a committed advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, human rights, epilepsy awareness, and freedom of creativity. Between 2011 and 2018, she organized fundraisers, raising significant funds for The Epilepsy Foundation and the National Epilepsy Foundation.

In 2023, following the delisting of Fuser, Vivid shifted her focus towards intensive music creation and founded VOD Productions LLC, an independent record label. This platform allows her to explore diverse genres, experiment with new sounds, and release albums across various musical spectrums.

Currently, she is fundraising to cover tour costs and plans to begin performing live online in early 2025, with in-person events expected in the spring, subject to funding.
